School trips are closely linked to the educational objectives and teaching programme. They are designed to foster connections among students across sections, with team-building at their core. Activities may focus on sports, language, or culture.
Participation is mandatory for S3 pupils, except in duly justified exceptional cases.

In April 1999, the Board of Governors approved the guidelines for school trips organised by the European Schools (MEMO 1999-D-5710). In May 2002, the OSG published guidelines for school trips organised in the nursery and primary cycles of the European Schools (MEMO 2002-D-54) which were approved by the Board of Governors.
